On Monday, February 17, 2025, a team from Pathfinder International led by a program manager, Asma’u Salihijo visited the Director General of the National Institute for Cancer Research and Treatment (NICRAT), Prof. Usman Malami Aliyu, in his office in Abuja.

The discussion centred on partnership to improve cervical cancer data generation in Nigeria, improve HPV vaccination and screening strategies, and how best to work closely with NICRAT to improve cancer care in Nigeria.

The NICRAT Director General, Prof. Malami, commended Pathfinder Nigeria for the initiative, noting that NICRAT will do everything possible to ensure the partnership yields a positive outcome for Nigerians.
While commending Pathfinder for the good work it is doing in Nigeria, Prof. Malami reiterated that NICRAT will continue to work closely with other government agencies, local and international partners, and other critical stakeholders to ensure massive awareness on cancer prevention, improve research and treatment.
